The Truman Brewery

The Truman Brewery is located at 91 Brick Lane in East London. This venue hosts a variety of creative businesses, along with independent shops, galleries, markets, bars, and restaurants. With around ten acres of space dedicated to business, retail, and leisure, the Truman Brewery is the perfect hub for conferences, trade shows, and exhibitions.

If travelling by public transport, the Brewery is conveniently located around bus stops and tube stations. The closest tube station is Shoreditch High Street Station which is only a five-minute walk from the Brewery. Liverpool Street and Aldgate East Station are also located about 10 minutes walking distance while Old Street Station is a 15-minute walk. There are also plenty of bus routes that can get you to and from the venue.

Planning your journey ahead of time is always a good idea, especially if you are taking public transport. It gives you extra time to get to know the bus stops in the area and calculate your travelling time. Apps like CityMapper and Bus Checker are great for checking the tube and bus routes in real-time.

So, you’re considering hosting your next event at the Truman Brewery in East London. However, before you start planning, it’s important to be aware of the expenses that come with hosting an event in London. The cost of travel, whether for a day trip or an overnight stay, can add up quickly so it’s a good idea to know what you are dealing with. To help you get started, we’ve put together a list of restaurants, bars, and hotels in the area with their respective price ranges. We hope this makes planning your trip a bit easier.

Restaurants In The Truman Brewery

On the Brewery site, there are lots of restaurants and cafes to choose from. However, the ones that are particularly recommended are DF Tacos and Japanika. If you are in the mood for Mexican American fusion, then DF Tacos is the place for you. It is an affordable diner-style restaurant that opens from 12 pm -10 pm all week, serving tacos, burritos, nachos, and jugs of frozen margaritas. If it is Japanese cuisine you’re after, Japanika offers a great selection of hot and cold dishes, including sashimi at a reasonable price. Both restaurants offer delicious, affordable food while also being extremely close to the venue.

Restaurants Near The Truman Brewery

Given the Brewery’s great location, there are also plenty of good off-site restaurants within a 15-minute walk. Dishoom Shoreditch is a popular option as its Indian street food has gotten a great reputation from happy customers who loved the food, service, and price. There is also a vegan menu as well as options for gluten and dairy intolerances. If you’re craving American comfort food, then all you need to do is take a 3-minute walk from Dishoom to Dirty Bones Shoreditch. Whether you’re in the mood for small plates, burgers, or chicken and waffles, this restaurant is the perfect place to indulge in some hearty and comforting food after a long day. Another great area for dining in is Spitalfields, which is approximately a 3-minute walk from the Brewery. You will find a good choice of cuisines such as vegetarian Middle Eastern food in Bubala Spitalfields, Detroit-style deep-dish pizzas in Detroit Pizza London and Chinese food in Noodle & Beer. All these restaurants are a stone’s throw away from each other, so you don’t need to look very far for a good meal.

Bars In The Truman Brewery

If you’re looking for a drink after a busy day of eventing, the Brewery has plenty of bars dotted around the site. Brick Lane has several well-rated and priced bars such as Brick Lane Tap Room. It is perfect for beer lovers, as its speciality is on-tap ales, lagers and stouts. It is also great for anyone who likes exploring different events as there are a variety of pop-ups hosted there. All Stars Lanes not only offers a great range of drinks, including cocktails and food but also bowling, hence the name. If you are looking for something fun to do in the area while also unwinding from the day, All Star Lanes would be a great place to go. The next recommended bar on Brick Lane is Big Chill Brick Lane. True to its name, it is a laid-back bar with plenty of food options as well as a creative cocktail menu. Just like the Brick Lane Tap Room, it has plenty of events that are hosted on a regular basis, and some even include a drinks discount.

Bars Near the Truman Brewery

There are a few pubs and bars to choose from if you are looking for something outside of the venue area, all roughly within a 5-minute walk of each other. The Ten Bells is a cosy and affordable pub located in Spitalfields. You can make reservations for large groups or simply turn up on the day. If you want a pub with a bit more flare, The Commercial Tavern could be the place for you. It is an eclectically decorated pub with a bar on the first floor which can be reserved for up to 70 people. But it is also a great place for walk-ins. Milroys of Spitalfields is a known whiskey bar that houses a global selection of whiskeys that can be tasted publicly or privately. They also offer cocktails but if you are a whiskey lover, you will feel right at home.

Hotels

There are two hotels that are closest to the Brewery and they are both ‘hub’ hotels, by Premier Inn. Hub offers small but well-decorated rooms that are central to big cities, which is perfect for professionals. You can stay at either the Shoreditch or Spitalfields locations, which are both about a 5-minute walk from the Brewery. Point A is a hotel chain with hotels in Shoreditch and Liverpool Street. It is known to be flexible, well-located, and relatively budget-friendly. Point A is also doing a deal that includes a free breakfast if you book directly with them. For those looking for a more luxurious stay, CitizenM is an option. Each room at this hotel features an XL king-size bed, iMacs for guest use, and superfast Wi-Fi. While it may be pricier than other options, CitizenM is a great choice for those who don’t mind spending a bit more on their stay.
