Stephen | Software Developer

I’m Stephen, a Software Developer at JET. I joined the team in April 2024, and my days are a good mix of focused work and collaboration. Most of my time is spent writing and debugging code, implementing new features, and reviewing pull requests to keep quality and consistency high, with the occasional stand-up and catch-up with product managers, developers and QA thrown in to make sure everything is on track.

What sparked your interest in the events industry?

What drew me most was the chance to explore a new industry that provided an engaging experience and bringing people together to create meaningful, memorable experiences, which are welcoming and accessible to a wide range of audiences.

What do you love most about your role?

Every day brings a new challenge that requires creative, analytical thinking. There’s real joy in watching an idea go from whiteboard sketch to working software that people use every day.

What made you decide JET was the right place for you?

JET provides an open and welcoming environment, with a strong teamwork ethic which values customer-first and genuine warmth, ensuring robust innovation for the future.

What do you think is our best product or feature?

I believe that our greatest strength is the ability to provide people with self-serve check-in at events via our JET Onsite solution. This heavily cuts down on the time spent waiting in line, and quick badge collection at events. Providing seamless reporting for Organisers for attendance.

If you could organise your dream event, what theme would it have?

An event about horse racing or gaming, something akin to E3, where gaming studios would show off their latest games, including potential new up-and-coming indie games.

What’s one fun or surprising fact about yourself that we don’t know?

I like to compose music.
