Sophie | Account Director
I’m Sophie, an Account Director at JET. I joined the team in July 2024, and no two days are ever the same. I start with a cuppa and emails, then it’s all about keeping projects running smoothly, catching up with organisers, and staying in the loop with the latest tech. I love the variety and the fast-paced energy of the role.
What sparked your interest in the events industry?
I started in events back in 2013 as a Staffing Manager, booking teams for brand activations and exhibitions – with my largest booking managing over 120 staff a day for a week at the NEC! Since then, I’ve worked as an Exhibition Organiser in Sales and now on the Supplier side, so I’ve experienced events from every angle. What keeps me hooked is the energy onsite – that buzz as the halls fill and everything comes to life. Once events are in your blood, there’s no going back!
What do you love most about your role?
What I enjoy most is building relationships with organisers – hearing their plans, supporting them in the lead-up, and making sure they feel ready for the big day. Visiting events in person and seeing all that hard work come to life is incredibly rewarding. It never gets old walking into a buzzing venue and knowing you played a part in making it happen.
What made you decide JET was the right place for you?
From the very beginning, I felt like part of the team – almost like family. Our company culture is to be genuinely supportive of one another and care not just about the work we do, but about each other as people – customers included. We’re proud of the tech we offer and how we work together to put our organisers first. There’s a real sense of purpose and positivity here – it’s the kind of place you feel lucky to be part of.
What do you think is our best product or feature?
How could I possibly choose?! From our brilliant Project Management Team who support customers with day-to-day planning, to our Onsite Team who quite literally run the show, to the powerful JET Reporting suite that gives marketing and sales teams the insights they need to boost ROI – it all works together. Each part plays a key role, which is why, for me, it’s the full package that really makes the difference.
If you could organise your dream event, what theme would it have?
I love a festival – good food, great music, sun shining! So my dream event would be a food and drink festival with a fun, laid-back vibe. Think street food, tasting tents, live music, and maybe a few surprise pop-ups along the way. Something that brings families together to enjoy the atmosphere, try something new, and just have a great time!
What’s one fun or surprising fact about yourself that we don’t know?
I’m gluten free – but luckily, I’m not alone! One of my lovely colleagues is too, so we always enjoy sharing gluten-free treats when we’re working in the office together.
