Silvia – Product Owner

Team Spotlight

Silvia is our Product Owner, helping keep our development team on track and planning out our roadmap.

So, let’s find out a bit more about Silvia…

When did you join JET?

December 2013.

Where are you based?

Birmingham City Centre.

What’s your career history?

I joined JET (back when it was Interchange Communications) in Dec 2013 as Technical Account Manager with the task of account managing a few consumer and trade events from start to finish. Then in 2015 I started my role as Digital Systems Manager which allowed me to focus on building our bespoke event registration forms. These can include some quite unique and complicated briefs. This is when I also started to focus more on data management.

Then in October 2021 I’ve started to focus on product management and working closely with the Development Team in defining user stories and managing the development backlog.

If you were going to run an event, what would it be?

It will have to be a show about exotic pets.

First song bought?

“Let’s get the party started” by P!nk.

The song you’d sing at karaoke?

I’d say any old Disney’s song!

Worst job you’ve had (hopefully not this one 😉)?

I wouldn’t say the job itself was bad, but definitely the Sunday shift as Room Attendant at a hotel was a nightmare! I’ll let you imagine the mess left in the rooms after a crazy Saturday night… especially after the Leicester Tigers had played!

Favourite Film?

City Slickers.

Who would play you in a movie?

Sandra Bullock.

Favourite Food?

This is difficult… I’ll go with tonnarelli ricotta, cacio e pepe. This is a type of egg-pasta dressed with a sauce of ricotta and cacio (2 types of cheese) and pepper. Quick and easy to make.

Favourite Drink?

Chinotto. I’ve never seen it for sale here though.

Favourite Holiday/Place to go on holiday?

Florida at the moment. But I still have a lot of places to tick off my list so it might change.

If you could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go?

It would be a horseback ride from the Grand Canyon to Yellowstone.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Weather permitting, I like to go for long walks.

What one thing could you never give up?

Definitely horse riding!

Tell us something we don’t know about you.

You wouldn’t even tell … I used to play basketball in Under-13 and Under-14 regional level.
