February 2024.

Where are you based?

Harrogate in North Yorkshire.

What’s your career history?

Long and very varied! Banking and the travel industry, followed by nearly 20 years in IT and Telecomms. Regardless of industry, I’ve always been customer-focused.

What have been your impressions of the events industry?

I’ve been involved in events and exhibitions on all sides, as a visitor, as an exhibitor and working with event management teams. The events industry is fast-paced, varied and hard work but fun! I’ve met some fabulous people along the way. I love it!

If you were going to run an event, what would it be?

It would have to be either music or travel, perhaps there’d be a way to combine both.

The song you’d sing at karaoke?

There’s not a chance that I would sing in public!

Worst job you’ve had (hopefully not this one 😉)?

Telesales, a 6-week temp job, I vowed and declared ‘never again’. Call centre employees have my deepest sympathy.

Favourite Film?

As a child I loved Lady and The Tramp. Anything with Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire, I could watch classic Hollywood for hours!

Favourite Food?

Italian.

Favourite Drink?

Gin & Tonic or a nice cup of builders tea.

Favourite Holiday/Place to go on holiday?

I try and explore somewhere new each time I travel, I adore Italy and had a fabulous trip to Cuba.

If you could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go?

Home to see my family in Australia.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I don’t have a lot but love live music, whether it be a band in a local pub an Arena event or one of the smaller festivals I’m there if I can be.

What one thing could you never give up?

My zest for life.

Your biggest achievement?

Crossing the world in my early 20’s to embark on a round-the-world travel adventure, I’m still on it!
