Employee Spotlight - Natalie

Our Employee Spotlight this month focuses on Natalie, who joined us at the start of the year as our first 'Event Manager'.

Previously our Account Managers were wearing multiple hats, and this resulted in them primarily focusing on the delivery of the events. Although this meant the events were well supported, our Account Managers didn't have much time to spend talking to their clients about our new or additional products and how they could benefit their events. Recruiting Natalie and building a team of both Account Managers and Event Managers allows our Account Managers to get much closer to the clients, allowing us to understand their pain points and help assist with them.

The creation of the Event Manager role allows us to build on our existing great customer service by introducing a more structured project management approach to the delivery of events. This includes a project plan document, project kick offs and regular update calls all the way through to the event, resulting in the best possible service for our clients.

So, let's find out a bit more about Natalie...

How long have you worked for JET?
Just over 3 months, but I’ve been in the events industry for over 11 years.

What have been your impressions of the events industry?
It can be manic but I love it! It’s great to see how an event comes together (team work makes the dream work, as they say) and the feeling of accomplishment when it’s all wrapped up.

If you were going to run an event, what would it be?
If I could be involved in any event it would be the Wimbledon Championships, then I could sneak into Centre Court to watch.

First song bought?
I have a horrible feeling it was Peter Andre “Mysterious Girl” (don’t judge me!).

The song you’d sing at karaoke?
Haha, it takes a few drinks to get me on stage but it would usually be a group song, something by the Spice Girls.

Worst job you’ve had (hopefully not this one ;) )?
That would be telling 😉 (definitely not this one though, I love working here!).

Favourite Film?
I’ve got loads, but an old favourite of mine is “High Society”.

Who would play you in a movie?
Reese Witherspoon, if she’s not too busy.

Favourite Food?
I love Italian food!

Favourite Drink?
Prosecco.

Favourite Holiday/Place to go on holiday?
I loved Rome and would love to see more of Italy (there seems to be an Italian theme in my answers!).

If you could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go?
Probably Disney World, I’m a big Disney fan. 😊

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Reading, watching films, walks in the countryside and floristry.

What one thing could you never give up?
Chocolate!

Tell us something we don’t know about you.
I lived in Perth, Australia for two and a half years (have been back in the UK for 9 months). It was a great experience and there are things and people that I miss, but there’s no place like home.
