Employee Spotlight - Michala

Employee Spotlight Issue 1 - Michala

Michala is our newest employee, having joined us in August as an account executive. Have a read to see what she'd sing at karaoke, where she'd go tomorrow if she could go anywhere in the world and why Pharrell Williams better watch out!

What have been your first impressions of JET?
Welcoming – as a new member of the team everyone has been very encouraging and supportive.

What have been your first impressions of the events industry?
This is so much fun for me as I studied event management at uni, however you don’t often think of what exhibitors get out of events so I am enjoying getting to know this service side of events.

If you were going to run an event, what would it be?
It would probably be something around music, because the industry is quite independent.  I would create an event where all different sections of what you need to start a career in music would exhibit their services and artists could come and network and get a feel for what they could use instead of looking for major label backing.

So, talking of music, what was the first song you bought?

'I wanna be down’ by Brandy and ‘Lets get ready to rumble’ by PJ & Duncan (please don’t judge me!).

And the song you’d sing at karaoke?
'Rock with you’ Michael Jackson.

Worst job you’ve had (hopefully not this one ;) )?
I’ve been quite lucky, none of my jobs I would really say have been bad.

So the boat that you are photographed on is from the new James Bond film, what is your favourite film?
Forrest Gump! I know pretty much every word.

Who would play you in a movie?
Taraji P Henson.

Favourite Food?
Everything! I love food.

Favourite Holiday/Place to go on holiday?
Barbados / Thailand.

If you could travel anywhere tomorrow, where would you go?
Cuba – I want to take a tour in a 1950’s car while sipping on a Cuban rum cocktail…being driven of course.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Going to concerts / cinema, reading, watching a good TV series and being social.

What one thing could you never give up?

Your biggest achievement?

I feel this is still yet to come…watch this space.

And finally, tell us something we don’t know about you.
I have met Pharrell Williams twice. Once outside the concert and once for a concert I didn’t have tickets for and managed to get through the back door into the bar (I’m not a stalker I swear!).
